Travelled back to Cambridge today, but still thinking about the pleasures of Bath's many good book shops.

Mr B's Emporium is a visual feast just for a start, before you've even looked at any books -

Their range of categories and genres is impressive and often quirky; one could spend hours here -

and what more beguiling place could there be to give children free range to discover the joy of reading -

Toppings is another favourite, both for sheer range/volume of books and the warm aesthetics of the space itself.

I'm always struck by how well-used Bath's bookshops are - almost always busy, loved by locals, and having so many well-attended events.

I needed the calming, nurturing energy of good bookshops today.
