At 32 degrees today I kept myself cool inside for most of the day until I needed to venture out for food.

I love that these typical Cambridge homes have riotous growth at this time of year, rather than well-kempt and tended planting. 

In the courtyard at home, my wood-pigeon pal came for regular dips. 

I do prefer these to the city pigeons who frequented my balcony in London, who were more aggressive and less beautifully coloured.
