 A small start was made on a herb garden for the summer today. 

 

Basil, parsley, and some sprigs of rosemary snapped off from a bush in Cotignac in the hopes that they may take root.

 

And after a day of swimming and proper summer heat, we ate outside -

  fresh sole from the new fishmongers, with frites

and Crucifix père et fils champagne from our trip

While we ate, the sky threatened and rumbled with thunder after the day's heat, but held off with the rain until we'd just finished -

When the thunderstorm and downpour came, the light was extraordinary -
