With 34 degrees today, it felt a true luxury to be here, where we could dip in and out of the pool.

When not in the pool we kept cool inside. It was too hot even to sit in the shade under the fig tree -

Dinner was bouchot mussels with toasted bread outside - a good Last Supper

And once again a storm broke loose just as we were finishing. But this time it arrived so suddenly and forcefully we had to grab and run from the table.

Holy mackerel, the wind and hail and thunder and lightning were wild.

But also destructive, as homes in Flanders were struck by lighting, and closer to home a neighbour's tree was brought crashing down. We had a lucky escape this time.
