This was the sunrise from my bedroom window at ten past 4 this morning, on the shortest night of the year -
I'm not normally up at this hour, but I was glad to have been awake for the sight (I have done no re-touching of these technicolour oranges and yellows).
Later, while checking on clothes drying in the sun of the courtyard -
I thought I spotted a visitor in the flowers -
Marmalade. His first visit in a year, since unwisely entering the house last summer, only to be attacked by our fierce Uno whose combat skills were honed on the streets of London in his years as a feral survivor.
Poor Marmalade. No wonder he looked wary.
