 Waking to the sound of rain this morning was a pleasure after an uncomfortably hot night

In the early evening the world and its bicycle were lined up in the only strip of shade along the side of Parkers' Piece -

and students dressed to the nines were walking to summer balls at the colleges -

At 10 pm it was still light in the sky -
