 Absent-minded like my father, I try, but don't always remember, to look closely, pay attention. 

I took a photo of the stones and steps to the front door, noticing and appreciating the light on the damp green mossiness of the concrete (nature invading) but did not notice at first the pattern on the front door made by a giant spider web -

and then, looking more closely, the two tiny creatures suspended in the web -
